Kaftans & Kimonos: Statement

Good day, followers of Kaftans & Kimonos. I apologize for not updating a new episode yesterday, and I apologize in advance for the brief hiatus you’re going to be reading about shortly.

I have been experiencing a creative burnout since the past week. I have tried to write but I can’t seem to get past this restriction to my creative range. I guess the lockdown is taking its mental toll on me. Note that most of us living in Abuja had been on a lockdown for at least a week before there was a formal directive by the president. I tried to write a new episode but it ended up reading too much like something I’d probably written before, so I knew I didn’t want to put it out. I do not want to compromise the quality I have maintained since the start of the series. For this reason I have decided to take a break from everything I’ve been indulging myself in and explore other interests for the next few days. To this end I deactivated my Facebook account on Sunday as I wanted to refocus my mental energy on less conventional interests. (For some reasons, I’m back there again.)

I’ll complete the series, I’ll do this soon. But for now, I’m trying to breathe. And learn. Thank you for understanding. Cheers.
